Amma's recipe for Chicken leg pieces

So this has to be the easiest recipe ever! And the results are oh so Yummy!
There are times when you want something light yet delicious and don't really want to put in too much effort or maybe you just don't have the time to put in the effort and need to feed some real hungry mouths or guests for that matter :D Well for all those times and many more, here is a quick easy recipe from our mom:

Ingredients:


  1. Chicken pieces with bone (legs, thighs etc)- 6
  2. Soya Sauce                                                 1 tbsp
  3. Vinegar                                                       1 tbsp
  4. Yogurt                                                         2 tbsp
  5. Salt                                                              1/2 tsp
  6. Black pepper                                                1 tsp
  7. Oil (optional)                                                1 tbsp


Method:


  1. Simply add all ingredients to a pot, cover with a lid and cook on slow heat.
  2. check after 10 minutes.  you can either shake the pan gently or use a spoon/spatula to change the sides of the chicken pieces so that it cooks well on all sides.
  3. Check with fork after 15-20 minutes to see if chicken is done. at this stage if you feel that the gravy is too liquidy, uncover the pot and cook on medium heat. 
  4. Turn off stove when gravy is of required thickness. Serve hot with favourite sauce or french fries! Yum! :)
